So you'd like to join in the War for Arcadia? That's
great, and it's the easiest thing in the world, as long as you can
read and follow some instructions.
First of all, you're going to need a character. What kind of character?
That's really up to you. Do you have a superhero you doodle in the
margins of your notebook? Do you have a little squiggle you tend
to draw during boring meetings? Is there a cartoon character you
always wanted to see somewhere? That is your character. You just
need a good idea of what he/she/it is like, and an ability to draw
that character.
Yes, sad but true, some kind of drawing or design ability is required.
All characters MUST be submitted for approval to one of the mods
or admins (myself (Multimoog), Toji), and these people can be found
in the forum.
Your submissions must include:
- a 360 pixel width by 750 pixel height character shot (this is
to help other players learn how to draw your character)
- a 50 pixel by 50 pixel avatar for the forums and main page (to
add to the player roster)
- A small synopsis of your character's personality and abilities.
You don't HAVE to have a huge backstory for your character unless
you want, we just need to know what to expect from them.
- A statement of which side you want to fight on (La Revolution
or The Celestial Empire - new members cannot join the Renegade faction).
If you don't care which side you fight on, and just want to jump
in the action, list yourself as a Free Agent, and you'll be placed
where you're needed. If it turns out that there's more members to
am certain side for a round, new members may be placed on the side
that needs beefing up.
- A proper way to host your art once it's ready for the battle.
Imageshack and Photobucket are both good choices. I like Photobucket,
but there's more out there.
- A tacit agreement that you intend to finish any round you're
active in - even if it means just drawing one or two pages to get
your turns in, you need to be in the game if you say you're going
to. Quitting before/halfway through a round you've committed to
could be grounds for expulsion from the game.
Once these are taken care of, post your character submission in
the "Choose Your Side - Registration" thread in the Rules
and Discussion forum and, as stated before, private message
a moderator. Then, once you're approved, you need to create a bio
thread for your creation in the Characters
forum. You won't be considered fully registered and won't be placed
in a battle until this is taken care of.
Then you're set to jump in and start battling!
